What is the difference between a DVR and an NVR?

DVR'S use dedicated point to point analog cabling to bring  the analog signal from the camera location to it.

NVR'S use the IP Network technology as the back bone for transporting information. The digitalised video, audio streams of the IP camera can be trnasmitted by connecting its Lan part to IP network.

When choosing a cctv camera and lens for a digital cctv system you will need to decide the following.

  •  Will the camera have to record in low-light conditions such as at night?

  •  What your budget is.

At CCTV Central we have a full range of cameras to suit your budget.

What is the difference between IP and Analogue cameras?

IP cameras use the Internet Protocol (IP) to transmit video signals over standard network infrastructure where as analogue camaeras typically use coxial cable for video transmission. Most IP cameras can also be powered via the same network infrastructure using POE (Power over ethernet), where as analogue cameras require additional cabling for a seperate power source.

IP cameras can deliver full HD (1080i) image quality, where as analogue cameras can only devlier analogue quality images with a lesser image quality.
